Cinthya Loaiza | “Faceless Frida”
This media file is attached to: Painting / Watercolor
This painting was a class project in which we were given the freedom to research and attempt the art styles of various artists that inspire us. As a Hispanic woman, I've always admired Frida Kahlo's art and the way she captures our Mexican culture. I chose her “Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird” from 1940 for my first painting. For my second painting, I chose Claude Monet because his work is exceptional, and I wanted to challenge myself by painting his 1912 “San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk.” I used acrylic paint on a canvas panel.
