This painting was made for a class project with the prompt of flowers as a subject. My main focuses for this painting were texture/pattern, color, and movement. I worked with an impressionistic painting technique and exaggerated color scheme within a diagonal composition in order to create a sweeping effect in the piece, and create a sense of liveliness. The subject matter was inspired by a combination of the Greek myths of Morpheus and traditional Pierrot costumes.
