In this piece I explored the rule of thirds by drawing the eye from the lighter values at the top of the page to the darker values at the bottom of the page. The use of values and transparency gives the illusion of mountains in the distance, transitioning slowly to the deep purples and oranges presented at the final moments of the painting.
