This painting was for an assignment where we needed to paint a portrait, either of ourselves or someone else. It didn't need to be realistic color wise, so I choose to do something that was out of my comfort zone. By approaching a more abstract way of painting.

Karissa Harvey | “Scrap Booking Assignment”

The painting shows a warm forest scene on a summer's day. There is a dirt path that starts in the foreground and swerves right before disappearing off to the left in the background. There is a shabby wire fence that follows the dirt path. There are a few dark figures of tall sparse trees in the foreground, and many of the same trees in the background. From the top right, sunlight cascades through the trees in the foreground which create beautiful long shadows in the bottom left foreground.
