This project was a collage assignment we could create from magazine clippings or digitally. I made my original image on Procreate abandon then used that image as reference to make the final painting. I knew I wanted to paint a taxidermy deer mount, so that’s where I started. In the process what came to be a floating dear over a highway, perhaps in a place you’d expect to see a deer alive, but instead it’s mounted as a trophy. Monstera leaves growing where antlers should be represent further life.
