When I reunited with far-flung family after a longer time apart that ever before, familiar details of daily life took on new significance. Taking a drawing class remotely heightened my awareness of these simple pleasures. I slowed down and savored “gathering”, both of family and of these unusually abundant edible-delicious wild mushrooms.
