I made this painting to help visualize the moment of distress. The background is dull so that I would be able add bright colors to the face to indicate the mixed emotions. I used the acrylic pen to make detailed marks in the figure's eye and cheeks to represent the feeling of blood rushing to the face. I also used dripping on the face to emphasize sweating along with the figure's hair, strands which trail inward to capture a sense of danger creeping near.
