I painted this for my class, because the theme was Pattern. The patterns have to be from cultures out side of our own. As far as I know I am not Japanese, but I am a fan of Japanese culture and the art style from Japan. So I decided to paint a Japanese character I made up a few years ago named Dafu. She is a character I made up for the anime Naruto. I painted her in a kimono, sitting a traditional Japanese house, with cherry blossoms (also known as Sakura in Japan) falling in the background. I also put a small bridge in the background. Two of my favorite characters from the show Itachi and Kisame are Kokeshi dolls next to her. And she has a Japanese candy called Konpeito and tea in front of her. The materials used were acrylic paint, metallic acrylic paint, gel pens, Touch Markers, Crayola markers and water.
