This piece is a class project based on the c. 1890s silent film Serpentine Dance, filmed by the Lumière Brothers. I replicated the color-changing dress using colored pencil and the solid background using graphite pencil, putting a focus on the flowing colors of the dress. I added goat horns and the moon to emphasize the dark background, and to show a theme of power.
