I took this photograph as part of a photo series on Portland's Oldtown district. Since the area in question was too large to comprehensively photograph in detail, I quickly realized that I'd have to look for shots that effectively showed Oldtown's character. This photograph was a result of that search. The combination of golden-hour light and the relatively good condition of the building give the photo a timeless look, but the modern Portland skyline in the background serves as a reminder that the rest of the world has changed around Union Station.
