This appropriation piece also inspired me to allow for political undertones to enter into the work. Angela Davis is one of the many activists 2020 has introduced me to that reflects the values of progress and awareness and gives me hope for humanity. Personally I feel that Hinduism, though I do not subscribe to any religion, promotes a feeling of equality in that it creates gods of all living creatures, including trees and plants. The golden orb is often known to symbolize consciousness, chose to set it free after noticing that it has often made appearances confined by the burden of the cross in the royal family's portraits.
