This still life painting was my first time painting with traditional oil paint. It was also my first time using the indirect method of painting. I gathered objects that are very dear to my heart; a paintbrush from my childhood, a vertebra found during the most magical chapter of my life and three 120 year old plant identification books that were passed down in my family. I wanted to learn oil painting for many years and took this remote art class as an opportunity to show up, have something positive to focus on and grow as an artist.
