Mae Pettit | “Rise of Justice”
This media file is attached to: 2nd Annual One College Virtual Art Student Exhibition
This piece was created with the idea that female identifying individuals are still not equal in treatment, pay, visibility and acceptance as a valid, autonomous, and equal person in modern society. Though I am not a BIPOC, I am aware of the barriers faced by POC. The woman at the top of my piece represents the overthrow of the injustices in our system and government, the white house on fire and a large bodied, low-income, woman of color becoming the symbol of power, justice, balance, and the face of what our country should stand for, true equity and equality.
