In this project I painted a concept with the history of femicide in México in mind. I used a picture as reference. There are two meanings. The first is literal. The little girl is walking into the afterlife with the candlelight guiding her way. The second is metaphorical. The little girl stands for the innocence of the women that have been killed and those having to live in fear. She is holding a candle and staring at it, praying and hoping. Our solidarity as womxn is something that will light the darkness that surrounds us.
