Clinical Research: Fieldwork
Fieldwork requirements
To successfully complete the program, all students must attend one Institutional Research Board (IRB) meeting and submit a related paper. Students will be provided guidance for scheduling and completing their IRB experience during the second term of the program.
Students are reminded that by attending these meetings, they are both representing PCC and meeting potential employers. As such, all students are expected to:
- Closely follow directions for both requesting/scheduling to attend the meeting and adhere to the guidance provided while attending the meeting
- Dress appropriately during the meeting
- Each IRB experience is unique; different people will have different IRB observations and opportunities
- Participate only if requested by the IRB members – the role of the student is to quietly listen unless asked
- It is recommended that students send a thank you note to their IRB contact
