Job Summary

Under the direction of the PCC Foundation Executive Director, coordinates the PCC Foundation Scholarship program. Provides direction and staff support to the Volunteer Foundation Scholarship Committee. Works closely with PCC Foundation Executive Director and foundation staff to cultivate donor relationships, renew scholarship gifts and to initiate contacts and communications to secure potential new scholarship gifts.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides guidance and support to the Volunteer Foundation Scholarship Committee.  Works closely with committee chair to recruit committee members, coordinate their efforts and plan monthly committee meetings to advance the committee functions.
  2. Implements, coordinates, directs and maintains Foundation scholarship program, including preparation of new scholarship agreements, maintenance and monitoring of existing scholarship agreements and maintaining regular contact with donors and students.
  3. Acts as liaison between faculty/staff, students and the public to provide information and resources regarding scholarship activities and programs.
  4. Maintains ongoing relationships by initiating and responding to individual donors, corporations and businesses, Foundation trustees, PCC Administrators, community organizations and private foundations when renewing or securing new scholarship gifts.
  5. Prepares scholarship application process for students and coordinates scholarship application reading and scoring.
  6. Supports the Scholarship Committee in planning and conducting the annual Scholarship Reception.
  7. Assists other Foundation staff in office computer operations and database input, responds to questions/problems on system and software procedures and coordinates design and maintenance of Foundation scholarship web presence.
  8. Assists in the coordination of other foundation special events such as the Faculty & Staff Awards, PCC Golf Challenge and other events as planned.

Positions in this classification may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and all positions perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Business or related field. Directly related experience performing the duties of the job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.  Three years experience in a foundation/development environment or other related business function.

Knowledge of:

Foundation and development office procedures, programs, (contributions, scholarships, etc.); personal computers and associated standard office software, basic customer service standards and principles; other office resources and equipment including phones and telecommunication systems, fax machines, copy machines.

Ability to:

Develop and maintain effective working relationships; effectively communicate verbally and in writing; provide effective and responsive service to customers and contacts; perform all assigned tasks efficiently and accurately and create and maintain accurate records; prioritize and manage multiple projects or change priorities quickly; operate a variety of office equipment; identify and resolve problems or issues with students, staff and clients.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Standard office environment. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings). Minimal physical exertion required. Position does not contain physical elements beyond the handling of everyday objects and materials.
