TIIP and New Course Development Funding

Each year PCC designates a minimum annual budget of $50,000 dedicated to support curriculum implementation and enhancement. This funding is allocated as part of the college’s Faculty and Academic Professional Agreement [Section 6.2.2 (d), page 31]

Earmarked funds support New Course Implementation (NC) and The Instructional Improvement Project (TIIP), and are awarded to bargaining unit employees, (faculty and academic professionals), who are involved in eligible rapid curricular or program changes.

Award requests are reviewed and disbursed by the Curriculum Development Committee consisting of a standing faculty chair and peer reviewers.

Project Approvals

New Course Implementation

New Course proposals that meet eligibility criteria and are submitted by the application deadline, are funded until monies for the academic year are exhausted.

The Instruction Improvement Project

PCC aims to support  projects with broad curricular impact. In alignment with the college’s one-district model and our focus on accessibility and cultural inclusiveness, funding will be prioritized for:

  • Collaboration Across Departments and Programs: Updates to courses that enrich curriculum across disciplines and degree pathways.
  • Multi-Course Integration: Enhancements to instructional platforms applied across multiple course offerings.
  • Accessibility Improvements: Updates that promote accessible education and incorporate principles of Universal Design (UX).
  • Inclusivity Focus: Initiatives grounded in a Trauma-Informed Lens and Cultural Awareness.
  • Industry Alignment: Updates that ensure curriculum remains relevant and fosters competitive skills for students.

Project Funding Approvals: TIIP proposals are reviewed competitively by the Curriculum Development Committee, and recommended to the VP of Academic Affairs for final approval. Approved projects will be funded in order received until funds for the academic year are exhausted.

Project Applications Requiring Adjustments: In cases where additional information is requested for project funding, applicants will have 4 weeks from Committee approval to re-submit materials.
