Academic Year

All the enrollment reports are based on an academic year of Summer to Spring. The Degrees and Certificates Awarded report is based on an academic year of Fall to Summer.

Success Rate (% S)

Success rate represents the percentage of students who successfully complete a course. It is calculated as:

% S = Number of students receiving a grade of A, B, C, P, PR, SC or CM
Number of students receiving a grade of A, B, C, D, F, P, NP, I, W, PR, SC, CM, N, UP

PR, SC, CM, N, and UP are non-credit grades.

Success rates for gender and race/ethnicity are not calculated when the enrollment is less than 5.  For any success rate that is not calculated, the total for that column is also not calculated.

Student Full-Time Equivalency (SFTE)

SFTE represents how much reimbursement PCC gets from the state.  It is calculated as:

SFTE = Weekly Contact Hours × Number of Weeks × Enrollment
510

The easiest way to explain this is with an example.

1 SFTE = 2.5 Hours × 12 Weeks × 17 Students
510

The above example shows that every 17 students in that class section is equivalent to one full-time student getting 510 contact hours for the academic year.
