Demographics by Modality
The Demographics by Modality report provides an unduplicated headcount of students, detailed by student demographics data, who are enrolled entirely in a single modality (in person, online or remote), or across multiple modalities. This report uses a live data connection, and may take up to a minute to load if all subjects are selected.
When reporting students who enroll in multiple modalities, data are detailed in different columns by whether or not there is an in-person component in any of their enrollments. These “2+ Modalities” columns include students who enroll in courses with different singular modalities (ex: an “in person” class and an “online” class), as well students who take a single class with multiple modalities (ex: an “in person + remote” class).
Data are refined to the term, subject(s) and course(s) selected. For example, if Math and Statistics are selected, and all courses are selected, the report indicates how many students took all of their Math and Statistics courses entirely in person, entirely online, etc. Courses from other subjects would not be included in this example.
The following measures are unique to this report and not defined in IE’s Data Dictionary:
- 100% In Person = The unduplicated headcount of students whose enrollments are all “In Person”.
- 100% Online = The unduplicated headcount of students whose enrollments are all “Online”.
- 100% Remote = The unduplicated headcount of students whose enrollments are all “Remote”.
- 2+ Modalities, Some In Person = The unduplicated headcount of students whose enrollments include two or more modalities, and at least one of their courses meet fully or partially in person.
- 2+ Modalities, No In Person = The unduplicated headcount of students whose enrollments include two or more modalities, and none of their courses meet fully or partially in person.
