Community College Survey of Student Engagement 2021
Overview
In spring 2021, 2,967 of 19,311 credit students (15% of the surveyed population) completed the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE). The CCSSE addresses college practices and student behaviors highly correlated with student learning and retention. The survey items are grouped as benchmarks in the categories of
- Active and Collaborative Learning
- Student-Faculty Interaction
- Student Effort
- Support for Learning and
- Academic Challenge.
The 2021 CCSSE also included fifteen new items focused on understanding student food and housing basic needs insecurities. *The CCSSE Overview Report, based on a template provided by the Center for Community College Student Engagement, includes PCC student respondent demographics, benchmark definitions with related survey items, and PCC benchmark scores.
PCC faculty and staff can access the entire collection of CCSSE reports including login information to the CCSSE Members Only portal through the Institutional Effectiveness Spaces intranet page.
