Summer 2024: OL Training Opportunities
Stipend-Eligible sessions:
  • Accessibility training.  This term, part-time credit instructors are eligible for up to $125 in stipends based on completing a series of four (4) Accessibility training sessions completed between  June 17, 2024, and August 30, 2024. Registration through Cornerstone: Accessibility training & stipend information.
  • Panorama-Accessibility tool in Brightspace
    As of Summer 2024 the Ally Accessibility Tool in Brightspace will be replaced by Panorama. Participants in this course will explore the new features and learn how to pair existing accessibility practices with the new tool.   • Adding Interactive Elements to Video with Annoto
    Annoto is a video annotation tool integrated within D2L Brightspace designed to enhance online video content by allowing users to interact with elements embedded in videos. Learn about the use cases for video annotation and the various interactive elements of Annoto, and try a hands-on demonstration of the tool. | Mon, 8/19 10-11am | Register | Join |

  • Lunch Q & A with an ITS.
    Bring your lunch and be prepared to ask any questions from the ITS team. Each one-hour session will be hosted by two Instructional Technology Specialists and will provide the opportunity to ask any questions about instructional tools and their use in your courses.

  • Chat with Online Learning’s Video Producer | Michael Annus is Online Learning’s staff video producer and is available to talk with you about creating videos for your courses, including advice and resources available to you! | Schedule a time to chat with Michael |
  • Getting Started w/ D2L Brightspace for Remote Teaching

  • Creating and Managing VoiceThread in D2L Brightspace
    Learn how to engage and establish a collaborative rapport with students by using VoiceThread, an external learning tool that emphasizes audio and video participation.   • How to Make Your D2L Content Page Accessible and Stylish
    Have you ever wondered how to respond to a less-than-perfect Accessibility Score on a  D2L course webpage? If so, this training session will not only answer that question, but also how to (1) design student-centered module structures; (2) use up-to-date HTML templates to create stylish content; and (3) convert Word files, PDFs, PowerPoint slides, and Google Docs into course webpages with perfect accessibility scores. All live sessions are subject to cancellation if no one has registered within 24 hours of the scheduled training. Check the calendar on the scheduled training day to see if it has been canceled.
