Tool specific:
- Getting Started w/ D2L Brightspace for Remote Teaching (workshop video): Briefly demonstrates the use of the significant tools: Announcements, Content, Assignments, Grades, and Zoom–and their importance in remote instruction.
- Announcements: Using the Announcements: post-course updates, changes, and new information to your students within your Course Homepage
- Content: post your course materials (e.g. syllabus, course calendar, etc.) (workshop video)
- Assignments: Creating an Assignment: a way for you to collect individual student’s assignment and organize it within your course, rather than cluttering your email (workshop video)
- Discussions: Adding new topics and forums: a way for you and your students to collaborate and discuss an assignment or course material together (workshop video)

Overview Sessions
- Getting Started w/ D2L Brightspace for Remote Teaching: Briefly demonstrates the use of the significant tools: Announcements, Content, Assignments, Grades, and Zoom–and their importance in remote instruction.
- Lecture Capture for In-Person Classes: We will cover how you can use Zoom and the standard classroom podium to capture your in-person lectures. Lecture capture can be an important retention tool for students who are unable to attend class due to COVID-19 protocols or other life events. Make recordings of your class and publish recordings of your lectures in Brightspace D2L (lecture capture using Zoom guide).
- Basics 1 – Navigation & Announcements: Learn how to navigate D2L Brightspace, post announcements, and send an email.
- Basics 2 – Adding Instructional Content: Learn how to add instructional materials to the content tool and set up a basic Zoom room.
- Basics 3 – Adding Graded Activities: Learn how to add basic assignments, discussions, and quizzes to your D2L Brightspace course.
- Accelerated Basics – Getting Started in Brightspace: These sessions cover Basics 1, 2, and 3 in a 90-minute session.
- Tour of the Assessment Tools in Brightspace: Learn about your assessment tool options in D2L Brightspace, including assignments, discussions, quizzes, as well as additional interactive tools such as Voicethread.
