General Science (GS) Instructor Qualifications
A Master’s degree (or higher) in the GS Subject Area
OR
A Master’s degree (or higher) in a GS Related Area plus 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the GS Subject Area. Instructors with a Master’s degree (or higher) in a GS Related Area must have their transcripts reviewed to document a minimum of 30 quarter hours of graduate credit in the GS Subject Area.

Demonstrated Competency Qualifications
For each of the courses listed below, Demonstrated Competency can be met by:
A Bachelors degree in the course subject area, plus demonstrated professional competency in the course subject area supported by a minimum of three years of documented full time equivalent experience in the course subject area consisting of any combination of work and/or research and/or teaching experience, carried out in private industry and/or government agency and/or academic institution and/or volunteer organization settings
OR
A Bachelors degree in the course related area, plus demonstrated professional competency in the course subject area supported by a minimum of five years of documented full time equivalent experience in the course subject area consisting of any combination of work and/or research and/or teaching experience, carried out in private industry and/or government agency and/or academic institution and/or volunteer organization settings.
