What if a community came together to read and discuss a book? This is a long-standing tradition in our community. Each year Multnomah County Library hosts Everybody Reads – an event designed to support and nurture a community conversation about a book. Portland Community College is again joining the conversation as an official partner. This year’s selections are Americanah and We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Events will officially begin in January 2019. Get involved! Read The library currently has copies of Americanah in print and audio. Copies of We Should All Be Feminists in print are also available for checkout. In January, get a free copy of the book at the library. Return it or pass it on to a friend, coworker or another student so that others can participate. Note: PCC Library will have copies on reserve for students. Ask at any Checkout desk. Discuss Let us know if you have ideas for a program or event related to the themes of the books. Throughout January, February and March, share your thoughts at a PCC event or at one hosted by Multnomah County Library. Be Inspired Hear Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie speak on Thursday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Arlene Schnitzer Hall. Learn Consult the Everybody Reads Guide for a list of related programs and resources.
