PCC is celebrating Open Education Week, April 10-14, and we’re especially excited because together we’ve met our goal to save students $1 million through the adoption of open and alternative resources in place of commercial textbooks. Thanks to PCC faculty and staff for all of their hard work! Visit any campus library this week for interactive OER displays, resources, buttons and cookies (at least on Monday!). Join our OER Interest email group; we’ll be sharing favorite tutorials, online classes and resources each day of the week. Register for an upcoming Open Oregon course redesign training ($500 grant) and/or the Spring OER Symposium on May 11 at PSU. Nominate PCC OER Champions to receive awards at the Symposium! Attend one of our upcoming workshops and review an open textbook in your teaching area to receive a $200 stipend. See more info and register for workshops. Contact Jen Klaudinyi, librarian and OER Committee co-chair for an appointment in-person or virtually: jen.klaudinyi@pcc.edu to help get you started with OER, or to arrange SAC or department visits. Visit our OER guide for help with OER questions. The international OE week fell over our break, but you can visit the Open Education Week event homepage for more ideas and online resources.
