I am currently serving as the PCC Library Access Services Manager. I supervise the PCC Library Supervisors at Cascade, Rock Creek, Southeast, and Sylvania Libraries. I also serve in the PCC Library Management Team; and in local, regional, and national librarianship committees.
I have worked in libraries since 1999. I started as a student employee and I am now in library leadership. I have worked in different institutions in Arizona, Missouri, Colorado, and Oregon. I was born in a Mexican border town to Arizona and California. I am proud to come from an agricultural working family and my first language is Español. While in college, I had the opportunity to study Portuguese, French, and Italian. Plus, I studied abroad in Paris, France.
I am a perpetual learner and plan to go back to take classes. I have an Associates of Arts from the Arizona Western College; a bachelors in Spanish and French and a master’s in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona; and a master’s in Public Administration from the Arizona State University.
My professional interests include customer service, information access, library services to first generation students, social justice, and copyright. In my spare time, I enjoy trying new foods, breweries, and crochet. I moved to Portland in 2022 and I am still discovering new spots to explore.
