James Hill

James G. Hill, an award-winning journalist and public relations writer, is the Director of Public Relations at Portland Community College. A graduate of Portland State University, James has worked as a section editor for the Newberg Graphic, Woodburn Independent, Clackamas Review, Oregon City News, The Dalles Daily Chronicle and the Associated Press. Born in Hillsboro, James is a native Oregonian through and through, having lived in Portland and Sunriver most of his life. Today, he manages the PCC website content, the college magazine "Communities" and public relations and crisis communications projects.

Sylvania Campus hosts Filipino workshops
SYLVANIA CAMPUS - The Portland Community College Filipino American Student Association has received a $1,000 PCC Diversity Grant to conduct a Tagalog Language and Culture Workshop for students and the community. Portland CC student Sarah Brown is flying high
At age 19, PCC student Sarah Brown has already checked off the top three on her list - she's a pilot, she's played Marimba in Portland's top Marimba band, she's learned to ride horses and owns one. She is one of the youngest certified flight instructors in the nation, if not the youngest, according to Max Lyons, president and general manager of Hillsboro Aviation, in Hillsboro, Ore. where she has a job as an instructor.
