Non-PCC testing centers and independent proctors
Your instructor may choose to allow you to select a testing center near you or choose an independent proctor. Students are responsible for any fees associated with these testing options. Many colleges offer proctoring services to students from other schools. Working with another college or professional testing center is usually the best option if you cannot use the PCC testing centers. If you are unable to locate a testing center to work with, your instructor may allow you to choose an independent proctor.
Independent proctor qualifications
A test proctor must be a neutral third party professional who:
- is employed with an educational institution, testing center, or other qualified location
- has no professional or personal conflict with you
- has a secure location for the exam
- has access to all the required technology for the exam
- is able to monitor you during the exam
Tests must be given in a professional testing location or public institution. Tests may not be taken in a private house or business. Proctors must have an official email address that has been assigned to them such as @lanecc.edu, @pcc.edu, or @us.army.mil. No personal email addresses allowed.
