Learn hands-on skills and prepare for the Oregon Radiation Health and Safety exam.

The Oregon Oral Radiology Proficiency Certification preparation course is for dental assistants and those with dental office experience who want to become certified in Oregon.

The job

Take on more responsibility as a dental assistant by obtaining the Radiation Health and Safety certificate. Dental Assistants who become radiology certified in the state of Oregon, can operate dental x-ray equipment and perform dental radiography procedures.

The program

Our RHS prep course is convenient with our combined online didactic learning, and weekend hands-on lab classes. This course meets the criteria to take Oregon’s Clinical and Didactic Radiologic Proficiency Exam administered by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).

Requirements

Students must be currently working as a dental assistant, or office staff to become radiology certified in the State of Oregon.

The investment

The time commitment for this course consists of 30 hours of didactic and 16 hours of hands-on in the PCC Dental Radiology lab.

Didactic information will be accessed through Desire2Learn, PCC’s online method of delivering education. Additional literature, assignments, and quizzes are used outside the classroom to enhance course materials.
