The Program

Gain an understanding of critical care through 6 weeks of live, instructor-led online classroom learning, followed by 40 hours of on-site skills training, and then an optional ER/ICU clinical practicum.

Note: This program is for Paramedics or RNs with at least 2,000 hours of experience. Requires AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS training, and PHTLS or equivalent. AMLS, NRP, GEMS, and advanced 12 Lead Interpretation training are all strongly recommended.

  • Online Module 1:
    • Introduction to remote and critical care
    • Medical-legal issues
    • Flight Physiology
    • Infectious and communicable disease
  • Online Module 2: Cardiac and respiratory emergencies
  • Online Module 3:
    • Shock
    • Sepsis/ MODS
    • Neurologic
    • Endocrine emergencies
  • Online Module 4: Neurologic and toxicological emergencies
  • Online Module 5:
    • Trauma
    • Burns
    • Environmental emergencies, including dive and altitude illnesses
  • Online Module 6:
    • Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary
    • OBGYN
    • Pediatrics and neonatal emergencies
  • In-Person Module 7: 5 days of on-site skills training and evaluation.
    • Paramedics or RNs with a minimum of 2,000 hours. Must also have AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS training, PHTLS or equivalent. AMLS, NRP, GEMS, and advanced 12 Lead Interpretation training are all strongly recommended.
    • EMS Providers who provide advanced and prolonged care to critically ill or injured patients.

The Investment

  • Tuition: $2,890, plus $125 for the textbook, and expense of travel, lodging, and food for on-site skills training.
