Before filling out this application, you will need to apply to PCC, read the program handbook, and complete your essay questions.

In addition to this application, you will need two recommendation forms and official transcript from any other institution.

All prerequisite courses (specified below) must be completed with a C or better prior to entering the program.

If you learned ASL in the community, in high school, or at a college/institution other than PCC, you will need to contact the department to schedule an ASL assessment before your application can be reviewed. Email sign@pcc.edu or call 971-722-4247 or 971-722-4672.*

  2. What special skills, knowledge, or personality traits make you a good candidate for this program?
  3. What experience do you have working, volunteering, or socializing in the Deaf community?
  4. Read the handbook for the program(s) you are applying for information about the program and policies. What do you predict will be your biggest hurdles to success in this program? How do you plan to succeed?

To complete this application, students must submit additional documents:
  • official transcripts from previous postsecondary institutions must be sent to Portland Community College.
  • two letters of recommendations must be submitted. At least one recommendation must be from a Deaf individual.
