Information sessions

Learn more about Computer Information Systems (CIS) – PCC’s Information Technology (IT) program.

These information sessions are for students who are considering one of the Associate of Applied Science degrees or the one-year certificate in Computer Information Systems.

Please note that Computer Information Systems and Computer Science are two completely different majors. None of the CIS classes transfer toward a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

The information session covers the following topics:

  • The difference between Computer Information Systems and Computer Science
  • An overview of the CIS certificates and Associate of Applied Science degrees PCC offers and the jobs they lead to
  • Prerequisites needed to start the CIS classes and program
  • First-term suggested class schedule
  • Transfer options for CIS students

Information sessions

These sessions are for students considering a CIS major. All sessions are held online through Zoom, which is free and can be downloaded to your computer or smartphone. After submitting the form, you'll receive a Zoom link and password by 9am on the day of your session. (Note: you will not receive a link if you signed up after 9am on the day of the session.)
