Legal Assistant, Career Pathway certificate

The Legal Assistant, less than one year Career Pathway certificate: 35 credit certificate program, including 29 hours of required courses; and 6 credit hours of elective paralegal courses. Admission into the Career Pathway certificate requires completion of an application timely with term deadlines. Students are admitted in Fall, Winter and Spring terms.

Students must maintain a “C” average in all required courses to complete their certificate.

As a Career Pathway student, you can get one-on-one support to help you access resources, services, and employment. You may also be eligible for financial support to help you with the costs of college.

This course is part of Oregon Common Course Numbering. WR 121 and WR 121Z are equivalent.

Paralegals may not practice law and may not provide legal services directly to the public except as permitted by law.

Paralegal program students must complete 14 quarter credit hours of synchronous instruction. Synchronous instruction means students must attend a scheduled class meeting time each week. This restriction is not applicable to Legal Assistant students.
