Apply to Dealer Service Technology
To join this program, you must apply for admission. To begin the program, students must secure a CAT dealer internship with a participating dealer. Final selection for this program is based on the capacity of each dealership to sponsor interns. This is a two year program that begins every Fall term.

Apply to PCC
Applying to PCC is free and only takes a few minutes. Complete this step as soon as possible so you can start using PCC resources.

You must work with a sponsoring CAT dealer to apply.

Take prerequisites
To see if you’ve met these prerequisites, follow the steps under plan your first term.
- Placement into WR 115 or higher
- Placement into RD 115 or higher
- Placement into MTH 60 or higher

Request letters of recommendation
You will need references from three people who know you in an academic or work setting.
- Letter one: from a teacher
- Letter two: from a current or previous employer, counselor or school administrator
- Letter three (optional): your choice

Write essay
With your application, you’ll submit an essay explaining why you want a career in the diesel or heavy equipment industry.

Submit application
Work with your sponsoring CAT dealer to complete the application to Dealer Service Technology.

Interview
Each of our sponsoring CAT dealers perform an interview of their candidates to determine if the candidate meets that dealer’s expectations and criteria for the program.
After you apply
You will get a response from your CAT dealer shortly after your interview.
