PCC Mobile Welding Outreach and Training Center in Partnership with Union Pacific
We are pleased to welcome our new Mobile Welding Trailer to our Welding department at PCC. This mobile training center has the ability to bring PCC’s skilled welding programs to students and the community. We are thrilled to be able to bring the trailer to High Schools, Community Centers and local businesses in many different capacities.
When we visit High Schools and Community Centers we are eager to offer students who have not had the ability to experience welding before a 2-3 week introductory training provided by one of our highly skilled welding instructors. Our goal with this trailer is to bring the trades back into the High Schools for students to experience and be excited about. Our hope is that the students who spend time in the trailer will be intrigued enough by welding that they will want to take more classes in trades. We are working to build a workforce of younger people ready to Build America.
The mobile center can serve up to 6 students at a time, and we will be able to rotate groups through, giving us a chance to spark the interest of many students in our area at schools and community based organizations.
We are so thankful for the partnerships with Union Pacific and Vigor to help us get this trailer on the road.
