COURSE OVERVIEW
Covers computer concepts and the use of information technology in business organizations, including the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Includes an introduction to hardware, software, databases, system development, and tools businesses use for communication and collaboration. Includes appreciating the value of ethical conduct in a business/computer environment and the impact of technology on industry and society.
CLASS STRUCTURE
This is a remote class, meaning we will have required Zoom sessions with the remainder of the course online.
Please note: Zoom session attendance with cameras on and a working microphone is required. You will need a space with no distractions to attend these calls, and your active participation in the Zoom sessions is expected for attendance credit. If you cannot attend the Zoom sessions without distraction, an online-only course might be a better option for you.
Technology
Desktop software or Google desktop software is required. Google integration with D2L is necessary for Google Docs use.
A computer with a working camera and microphone is also required for this class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
