Details about this class
Welcome to BA 224. I really enjoy teaching this course online. It's my goal to facilitate your success in Human Resource Management. My philosophy of teaching an online course is that I'm an educator and a facilitator, and I'm here to make this an engaging and professionally relevant course.
This course is arranged chronologically and employs a modular design. Each week, students should complete all assignments listed in that week's lesson module. These modules will appear directly on the homepage during the week they are due and are also available by clicking "Content" on the course navigation bar.
Due dates for each week's assignments will be listed within the module itself, as well as in the "course calendar" which is also available on the Content or on the Schedule. Assignments within the modules may direct students to use many of the tools contained in Brightspace, including the Assignment, Discussions, and Quizzes. These tools will be accessible both from within the weekly content modules, as well as from the course navigation bar.
Participation Expectations
As we explore the laws, policies, approaches and best practices in Human Resource Management, the richness of understanding is further sparked by discussions, and the open exchange of ideas and perspectives. Thus, students in this course are expected to participate in class discussions, review course materials, check email, and complete assignments.
Weekly discussions are built around each Module's learning objectives and ask students to make an initial post in response to the week's questions by Thursday and then respond to their classmates (at least 3) to discuss perspectives, ask questions and/or share experiences. Discussions are graded with initial posts worth 24 points and responses worth 3 points for a total of 30 points.
Each time you log into the course, check the Course Homepage for any "Announcements", email/discussion messages, and calendar postings. Learning revolves around the open exchange from students who embrace their role of being part of a dynamic "Learning Community."
