Details about this class
I am passionate about marketing excited to help students connect social media activities with marketing and branding theories! You can look forward to doing the following in this course:
- Directly engage with social media platforms to apply course material
- Create social media ads
- Analyze and discuss social media posts
- Develop a social media marketing plan
This hybrid course will meet in person at the Rock Creek campus on Tuesdays from 12-1:50PM. The remaining instructional hours will be delivered online in addition to the standard homework load for this course. Students can expect to do the following on a weekly basis:
- Attend class
- Read the text book and take a reading quiz
- Sourcing social media posts for class discussions
- Complete a weekly assignment
- Watch/Listen to video and podcast content
Technology
This class will require the following:
- Access to social media platforms
- Ability to capture screenshots and links to social media posts
- Use of Canva - with a free student account
- Microsoft Office - with free access to the software
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.
The Start Guide is not required for remote classes but strongly recommended.
