Details about this class
Welcome to BA 295, the Management Capstone Class – the final step in your management academic journey. This course has been designed to bring together everything you've learned, offering an integrative experience that ties together concepts, skills, and practical insights.
In BA 295, we’ll focus on synthesizing the knowledge you've gained from different courses, integrating theories and real-world applications to solve complex challenges. The goal is to provide a comprehensive view of management, helping you connect the dots between various concepts and see how they work together in the real world. You’ll also have the chance to apply your skills in practical ways, turning theory into actionable strategies and preparing you for the challenges you’ll face in your career.
This capstone course is about making sure you leave with a solid understanding of management and the confidence to apply that knowledge professionally. I look forward to guiding you through this process and seeing how you grow in your expertise.
This is a hybrid class, combining Zoom-based live sessions with fully asynchronous online learning. Zoom allows us to have face-to-face interaction, participate in discussions, and get immediate feedback. The online component lets you access materials and work at your own pace, giving you flexibility while ensuring a full learning experience.
A bit about me – I’m Dr. Michael Hohn, and I approach teaching from a strengths-based perspective. I focus on recognizing and nurturing what you do best, fostering a positive and supportive environment where you can build confidence and self-awareness. I value each student's uniqueness and believe that everyone brings something special to the table, which creates a classroom atmosphere of inclusion and respect.
Technology
I would like to highlight the importance of ensuring that your technology setup meets the specified requirements outlined in the Online Learning Technical Requirements. While no special technology beyond those listed is required, proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is crucial for active participation in various assignments and projects.
Furthermore, it is imperative to have Adobe Reader installed on your device, as it will be utilized for reviewing and accessing specific course materials. This step is essential to ensure that you can fully engage with the content and make the most of the learning experience.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
