Details about this class
This is an in-person chemistry class at the PCC Rock Creek campus. We will meet in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:20 pm (lecture) and from 7:30 pm-8:50 pm (lab). You should be able to attend both lecture and laboratory components to register for the course.
Lectures and lab sessions will be interactive and designed to help learning and measure understanding. This information will be used to guide the speed of content and delivery methods. Therefore, student participation will be key to instruction. All the study materials will be given to the students including free access to the e-textbook. Lecture slides will be posted on the class website in D2L.
This class will include completing in-class group problem-solving activities, clicker questions, and hands-on laboratory experiments. Assessment is based on exams, quizzes, homework, and laboratory work. Practice exams will be provided. There are two mid-terms and then the final exam. Office hours will be available in person.
I will contact enrolled students by email near the beginning of the term with more information about the course. I look forward to working with you to build a strong chemistry foundation!
