Details about this class
Hi, my name is Quinn. My expertise is in computer science research, and I offer a perspective in scientific thinking - how to ask questions like a scientist and how to answer them like a scientist! I'd love nothing more than to help you build a foundation of analytical thinking and problem-solve skills, and build the confidence that you can make a difference in the world.
This is a 100% distance learning, a fully online class. There will also be virtual and physical office hours. The details on date and time will be provided on course syllabus and in the D2L Learning Management System (LMS). For the assessment, the course consists of assignments, discussions, a midterm exam, and a final exam.
The course consists of assignments, labs (problem sets) discussions, a midterm, a final exam. This class has a solid mix of hands on coding combined with academic learning and problem solving.
Technology
The course requires you to use the internet to access course materials and internet based tools to learn from the course.
Therefore, your computer should have installed or be able to access the following tools via internet:
- D2L Learning Management System for the class content.
- Zoom (provided by PCC and built-in to the LMS)
- PyCharm

No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
