Details about this class
I am Rosa Rincón, the instructor for this class. Introduction to Education provides an overview of the history and current issues in the field of K-12 education.
This class is fully online, so you may do the work at your convenience. In order for you to have meaningful learning, I encourage you to enter the course at least 2 times a week to work on the content, participate in the discussions, check emails, any new announcement, and calendar postings.
As your instructor, please know that my first priority is your well-being, so that you are ready to learn. Therefore, if there is anything that is affecting your ability to participate in the class, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am here to support you and I will do my best to connect you to resources.

This class is recommended as an initial course for those contemplating a career in education. It was also designed to ease the transition of students to college-level study.
Technology
This class will be offered fully online and you will be using D2L. During this class, you can access the materials at any time and will be able to learn at your own pace.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
