Welcome to HE 251: Community & Public Health
Some things to know about our class:
- Our class is fully Online and asynchronous. There are no class meetings. Yes! We can set up 1-on-1 meetings on Zoom or phone calls as needed.
- There is a Required Orientation Quiz that must be completed the first Wednesday of the week.
Students have an option between the print version or an online, less expensive ebook. When students purchase the ebook through the PCC bookstore, they will received an email to access the book through RedShelf.
Note: eReader platforms such as VitalSource and RedShelf require you to create an account before the activation/download process may be completed.
Returns of digital purchases are limited:
Once this title has been downloaded through the site, it is no longer refundable.
Digital purchases that have not been downloaded or accessed may be returned for 14 days from the date of purchase.
If you have questions about returns, please contact the bookstore before accessing your materials.

No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online prerequisite: Start Guide for Online Learning
Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.
The Start Guide is not required for remote classes but strongly recommended.
