Details about this class

This course examines ideas for understanding and dealing successfully with difficult behavior. Explores strengths and weaknesses of various behavioral/conflict styles. Self-assessment instruments measure individual approaches to relationships and conflicts. Specific techniques for dealing with difficult encounters and enhancing relationships are discussed along interactive applications.

This course is designed for students of Management/Supervisory Development: a preparatory and professional development program for potential or new supervisors and managers.

This is a four-week class. No textbook is required for this class, all materials will be embedded in each weekly module. There is one lesson each week with mini-lecture. Students are asked to reflect on the lectures and then provide complete answers to each of the questions in discussions and assignments. Discussions are very important and fun! This is the forum for learning from each other.

Coursework will include weekly discussion posts due on Wednesday and two peer responses by Friday of each week. We will have one final paper due Friday of Week 4.

In order to avoid being dropped as a "No Show," you must complete the following activities by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday of the first week:

  • Complete the Course Info and Success Quiz with a score of 100%
  • Submit a complete discussion post to the "Week 1" discussion forum
