Details about this class

This course begins by examining common causes of conflict using real life examples from the workplace. The second part of the course addresses what can be done to effectively manage conflict, including the development of a negotiation philosophy as well as specific suggestions for facilitating positive conflict resolution.

This course is designed for students of Management/Supervisory Development: a preparatory and professional development program for potential or new supervisors and managers.

This is a four-week class. No textbook is required for this class, all materials will be embedded in each weekly module. There is one lesson each week with mini-lecture. Students are asked to reflect on the lectures and then provide complete answers to each of the questions in discussions and assignments. 

Coursework will include weekly discussion posts due on Wednesday and two peer responses by Friday of each week, and We will have two Activity Assignments (one in Week 1 and one in Week 4) Activity Assignments are due on Friday of each assigned week.

In order to avoid being dropped as a "No Show," you must complete the following activities by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday of the first week: 

  • Complete the Course Info and Success Quiz with a score of 100%
  • Submit a complete discussion post to the "Week 1" discussion forum

 

Technology

There is no additional technology required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
