Details about this class

This is an in-person class and will meet during the full scheduled class time. Class time will be spent taking notes, working through example problems, and practicing concepts in pairs or small groups.

Math 70 is fast paced.  It is the combined Math 60 & 65 curriculum in 1 term so we have much content to cover.  Math 70 is more of a review of topics.  This course is intended for students with strong foundational math skills.  Students need to have a good grasp of basic math skills and do not rely on their calculators for basic computations.  Multiplication facts/skills are fundamental to your success. Feeling comfortable working with fractions is also important without a calculator. Seems like easy things but it so important.

Although this is an in-person class, much of the course material is accessed online. The textbook is available online and many assignments will be completed with an online graphing website, in D2L, or in an online homework system.

  • Reliable internet to access course materials in D2L and complete online assignments
  • Access to free online graphing websites like Desmos
  • A physical scientific calculator. The TI-36X Pro (best for engineering/calculus), TI-30XS (best for algebra/pre-calculus) or TI-30XII (ok for algebra/pre-calculus) is recommended. The cost for these calculators is around $15-$20.
  • Ability to scan written documents to PDF format using a scanner or scanner phone app
