Details about this class

We meet once a week on Monday mornings from 9:00 - 11:50 via Zoom.

This is a really fun class for anyone who wants to learn guitar.  We will meet once a week on Monday morning via Zoom the whole class so you get to learn some things in person with me, but also with other students with whom you can make friends and share the learning journey.

This is the second in the sequence beginner class on guitar to learn to play guitar and we will continue to cover learning to read music on the guitar, classical techniques,  fingerpicking, chord strumming, and some practical theory. You will need to have a guitar for this class.  Classical and some flamenco guitar techniques are taught. The coursework is broken up into weekly modules with weekly quizzes and assignments to help you to learn better.

You will learn more classical pieces and continue to hone your guitar technique.

Begins with classical guitar technique, standard notation, and finger picking and then moves to tablature, chords, and strumming.

Note that the MUS 191, 192, and 193 group guitar classes all meet at the same time so sometimes MUS 192 students will have the opportunity to play for the whole class and also make friends with other advanced students in the breakout rooms.

Technology

Guitar, camera, microphone and printer (or use your PCC Print credits) are required for this class.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
