Details about this class

PL 101 is the first required class in the Paralegal program and Legal Assistant career pathway program. All students who have taken WR 121 are eligible to take the class. The class contains information about the legal profession - primarily paralegal careers -  as well as an introduction to the US legal system.

If you plan to take the entire program, you should purchase the 8th edition of the textbook from the PCC Bookstore to receive access to a required quizzing program that you will use in a future class (PL 108 - Legal Analysis and Writing). This program is available for separate purchase for $59. You will also use this book in PL 102 - Survey of Substantive Law. Please consider these facts when deciding where and whether to purchase the textbook.
