Covers musical composition techniques relevant to a variety of contemporary and historical styles such as: serial, atonal, minimalist, conceptual, aleatoric and generative composition. Includes microtonality, graphic and event scores, tunings and temperaments, musique concrète, variation technique and orchestration and arranging. Prerequisites: MUS 212A or instructor permission.
