Women in Math: The Limit Does Not Exist

The Podcast

In 2016, I developed this podcast with the help of several of my female-identifying students. This podcast is an effort to promote visibility of women in mathematics. Inspired by the fact that women are a vast minority in higher mathematics courses, Women in Math: The Limit Does Not Exist serves to increase enrollment and participation of women in mathematics and STEM courses.

If you have any interest in participating in this podcast, then please let me know!

Recording: I’ll let you decide on how to best work through this, but if you have a room or space that has a bit less aural interference, then that would be idea. I’ve typically used a podcasting microphone or a condenser microphone, but any sort of recording equipment (i.e. phone or external microphone) should work well. Even if you don’t have something like that, Google Recorder (free app) works great. If you would like to record at school, then I can arrange for a room and equipment to be available to you.

After you are done recording, I will go through an editing process with the audio file(s). I will upload the finished file privately and share it with you. If you feel that the recording accurately reflects what you want to put out on the internet, then I will post the episode in time. Moreover, at some point I’d like to take a picture of you to post to the podcast’s Instagram page.

If at any time you’d like your recording taken down, you need only let me know, and I will remove the episode.

2. Regardless of if you participate, choose not to participate, or any other decision you make regarding this podcast, if you are taking a class with me, then your standing in the class will not be affected in any way.
3. Please don’t burn any instructors by name. I have no problem with you calling out anyone’s behavior, and under certain circumstances naming people is perfectly acceptable, but as a standard, let’s not burn anyone down.
